  Research Highlights
GBE50 is a standard extract of the ginkgo leaf, which was developed by a Chinese company. This study utilized GBE50 to treat an experimental rat model of aging and compared with EGB761. Results demonstrate that GBE50 and EGB761 enhanced hippocampal synaptic plasticity and improved the learning and memory of aging rats.

  Research Highlights
Using qualitative and quantitative analyses, this study objectively explored changes in the amount of dopamine transporter in the corpus striatum in the lesioned side of the bran in rats treated with L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine, to evaluate the potential curative effects of compound rehmannia formula in reducing side-effects of levodopa drugs.

  Research Highlights
The present study was the first to demonstrate that scorpion powder exerted analgesic effects on migraine by upregulating proenkephalin mRNA expression and increasing methionine-enkephalin content in a rat migraine model.

  Research Highlights
The current study indicated that brazilein can increase S100 protein expression in injured segments of the spinal cord, and promote sciatic nerve repair after sciatic nerve injury in BALB/c mice. Both high (16 g/kg) and medium (8 g/kg) doses were found to exert significant effects.
