BACKGROUND:This study showed that, total saponins from Rubus parvifolius L. can decrease neurological impairment, reduce cerebral infarct volume, diminish pathological changes in rat models of local cerebral infarction and reperfusion. The possible mechanism may be that total saponins from Rubus parvifolius L. upregulated the expression of the anti-apoptotic factor Bcl-2, and downregulated the expression of the pro-apoptotic factor Bax. | | |
